ALAN GIBB

Alan Gibb is an award-winning documentary film editor who has specialized in science and nature themes.
Perhaps best known as the editor of CBC’s The Nature of Things, Alan has edited close to 20 episodes of the popular science series starring David Suzuki.
His work with the CBC doesn’t stop there. He edited 60 episodes of the hit series Marketplace, 52 episodes of What’s New, 52 episodes of Money
 
Makers and the first two years of CBLFT News among many others.
He has also worked extensively with National Geographic and Discovery. Most recently, he edited the popular episode The World of the Spirits for National Geographic’s series Marumba as well as the special Pigs on the Run, nominated for Best Nature Documentary and Best Editing at the 2003 Golden Sheaf Awards.
For the Discovery Channel (US), Alan edited the 13-part series The Nature Connection with David Suzuki, this time wearing his co-producer hat as well. The series won a Gemini Award and was nominated for a Cable Ace Award.
Some of Alan’s other awards include Best Editing honours at the Montana Wildlife Festival for his film The Hidden World of the Bog; winner of the Best Political and Social Documentary at Toronto’s Hot DOCS Festival for Skin Deep: The Science of Race; and Best Environmental Film at the Czechoslovakia International Film Festival for the film Indonesia: Generation of Change.
Alan’s unique and extensive experience with science and nature films make him a valuable member of the team for The Antarctica Challenge.
